Marking the twenty-second entry in the Call of Duty franchise, it also serves as the eighth core installment in the Black Ops saga, following Black Ops 6 (2024) . Set in the year 2035 , the narrative—playable solo or in cooperative mode—centers around a team of operatives led by David Mason , picking up events after Black Ops II (2012) . As expected from the franchise, the game will feature a robust multiplayer experience , along with the fan-favorite round-based Zombies mode for cooperative play. BHD kind of sat in the middle. It had massive, open levels, which was a huge deal at the time. 2 You could do some long-range sniping, which was a core part of the Delta Force series, but the game also brought in intense, close-quarters combat inspired by the movie. 3 The game’s story was told through radio chatter and briefings, and you played as a nameless soldier, which made you feel like you were just a part of the team.
